About the Teachers and Professors
Nina Munteanu is a violonist, currently violin teacher at "Octav Bancila" National College of Iasi. She studied at the “Gavriil Musicescu” Arts Conservatory in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova. In Chisinau she worked at Music School No. 4. In Iasi she worked at the National Opera Theater, Iasi. She also was a conductor and violinist at the “Ion Creanga” Theater, Iasi. She has given numerous concerts and participated at various festivals in the cities of Moscow, Alma-Ata Kaukaz, Voldagno, Verona, Ricoaro and other places in Italy, France, Greece, the Netherlands as well as in the big cities in Romania. Her violin class at the National Art College, "Octav Bancila” has many very gifted students who have either graduated high school or are still in high school.
Susie Mészáros is a Tutor in Viola, Violin and chamber music and member of the internationally renowned Chilingirian String Quartet. Susie Mészáros studied at the Yehudi Menuhin School. She has been principal viola with the Camerata Salzburg, as well as a regular chamber music partner of her teacher, violinist Sándor Végh. She made her Wigmore Hall debut as a duo with Yehudi Menuhin in 1977 and performed solo with Vladimir Spivakov and Arthur Grumiaux. She won the Gold Medal at the Royal Over-Seas League competition and was a string finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year and played with many leading chamber ensembles including the Nash Ensemble. Susie was leader of the Fitzwilliam Quartet, Prometheus Ensemble and concert master of Kent Opera. She has appeared as soloist on Radio 3 on both violin and viola.
Susie is a member of the world-renowned Chilingirian String Quartet. She has taught at the Yehudi Menuhin School and the Purcell School and is a Professor at both RCM and RNCM teaching violin, viola and chamber music. Susie has performed as a guest principal with major orchestras including the Philharmonic, Britten Sinfonia, London Mozart Players and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. Susie has been a juror on the Bordeaux International Quartet competition. As past winner of the Gold Medal at the Royal Overseas League, was invited to sit as jury member for the 2016 competition. She performs regularly with her quartet, the Chilingirian String Quartet, as well as in her new ensemble ‘Dragonfly’ with Marcia Crayford and Moray Welsh.
Ina Cristea PhD candidate, is a Piano Professor and Music School Manager of the "Ina Cristea" private music school in Iasi, the founder of which she is. She attended 12 years of music at the National Art College "Octaav Bancila", Iasi, the piano section. During the following 4 years she was a student of the "G. Enescu" University of Iasi, School of Musical Interpretation - piano, in the class of Univ. Prof. Gabriela Lipceanu, then 2 years of Master in the class of Associate Professor (“Conferentiar”) Mihaela Constantin, PhD. During her studies she held chamber concerts at the German Cultural Center in Iasi, Iasi Culture Palace, and Atanas Tatarias, in the project "Interferences", having as stage partners professors of the National Art College "O. Bancila ", Iasi. The school years brought her the opportunity of collaborations with pianists, with whom she performed 4-hand and at two-piano recitals in both Iasi and Cluj. Her passion for “lied“ is reflected in the results obtained in competitions of interpretation, vocal-instrumental chamber music. Given her jazz passion, she was part of the Jazz Club of the Student Culture House and, under the tutelage of Professor Romeo Cozma, attended student festivals, as well as concerts in Iasi, Sibiu and Cluj. During 2007-2008 she collaborated with the State Philharmonic "Moldova" Iasi. Over the years, she has won numerous awards at national and international competitions and has also taken part in master classes with renowned pianists and professors. Love for the Romanian song type “romanta” brought her awards at the "Golden Chrysanthemum" Contest Festival, both in the Musical and the Creation Interpretation section, where she performed songs composed by the late Titel Popovici, to whom she owes her presence at this festival. In 2013 she collaborated with Tierra Sin Pan, performing concerts in Iasi and enjoying the discovery of a new passion, Piazzola's music. She is a member of the Academica Quartet, whose members are instrumentalists of the Moldavian State Philharmonic Orchestra Iasi, with whom she has played in concerts both in Iasi and in the country. She has been invited to radio and television shows, both locally and nationally. Currently she is a PhD student and assistant professor at the “G. Enescu” nterpreting University of Arts in Iasi and a manager of the "Ina Cristea" Music School in Iasi.
Stefan Gabriel Gheorghita was born on June 17, 1975. Currently he is a substitute professor at the Canto and Choir of the Department at the "Octav Bancila" National Art College of Iaşi, where he also worked as a Professor of singing at the singing department (teaching the singing technique, solfege, musical theory, repertory preparation for students 9th grade), Between 1998 - 2003 he studied at the School of Musical Interpretation - Canto Section, "George Enescu" Art University of Iasi where he became a bachelor of double singing specialty and canto professor accumulating skills in: Canto; Actor's art; Scenic movement; Actor’s presence; music theory, solfege, dictation; history of universal and Romanian music; as well as pedagogical education / psychology / teaching methodology. His thesis was singing Almaviva Count in Figaro's Wedding by W. A. Mozart.
Since 1988 he has been the Vice-president of the Coral Association "Lirica", Piatra Neamt - Iasi Branch. His main professional activities include: Second conductor Piatra Neamt branch and conductor Iasi Branch; organizing and conducting cultural events on various occasions (religious holidays, book launches, festivals, competitions, charity events); engaging in charity actions; organizing and running repetitions; recruiting new members and improving professional training. From January 2004 to September 2016 he was soloist baritone; at the National Opera House in Iasi, with A level roles (7 opera and 5 operetta), B level roles (6 operas) and C level roles (2 operas). Between 2003 and 2008, he was a choir collaborator (baritone) and soloist at the National Opera (Den Nye Opera) in Bergen, Norway, where he had numerous activities: the agent and tour organizer of collaborators Romanian; preparing/ studying the scores with Romanian collaborators; choir and soloist singer. He sang in secondary roles in symphonic operas and concerts: between 2004 - 2016 he was collaborating soloist (baritone) with roles A and B level in operas and operettas at "Nae Leonard" Musical Theater Galati.
Stefan Gabriel Gheorghita has participated in numerous country recitals alongside the students of "George Enescu" Art University of Iaşi on the stage of the State Philharmonic of Iasi during the " University Days " 2001, 2002 (recital broadcast at Radio Iaşi within the program "Musical Universe"), in 2003 with the orchestra of the Moldavian Philharmonic Iasi under the baton of master Corneliu Calistru. He was in over 7 tours with the Romanian National Opera Iasi in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Rsome of the roles he played in are: Fiorello Debut and The Barber of Seville - G. Rossini; debut commissioner and gardener - Traviata - G. Verdi; the roles of Fiorello and the Seville Barber Officer - G. Rossini; the roles of the commissioner and the gardener - Traviata - G. Verdi; debut, the role of Count Almaviva - The Wedding of Figaro - W.A. Mozart; the role of Malatesta - Don Pascuale - G. Domizetti - at the "G. Enescu " College of Art, Iasi- a performance performed on the stage of the Romanian Opera Iasi; the role of Taran - Enrico of Canossa - Iulian Trofin - the absolute premiere, and others.
Adina Maria Pavalache is a graduate of the "Octav Bancila" College of Art, Iasi, the 1986 promotion. In 1987 she was employed las yrical artist in the choir of the Romanian Opera in Iasi. In 1989 she is admitted to the “George Dima” Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca, from which she graduates in 1994, in the class of Prof. Agnes Kriza. In 1992 she plays the role of Catalina in the opera "Luceafarul" (“The Evening Star”) by Nicolae Bretan, on stage of the Romanian Opera in Cluj-Napoca. In 1994 she became a professor of vocal art at the National Art College "O. Bancila" in Iaşi. Between 1999-2001 she collaborates with the Romanian Opera in Iasi, where she played the role of "Butterfly" in the opera "Madama Butterfly" by G. Puccini. Between 1994 and 2018, she dedicated herself to vocal pedagogy, achieving outstanding results in vocal interpretation and musical Olympiads, along with numerous students, with whom she gives great dedication in the art of singing.
Oana Cristina Antiniea was born in Iasi on December 12, 1982. She attended the courses of Composition, Musicology, Musical Pedagogy and Theater at the "George Enescu" University of Arts, Iasi, where she held the 2006 License exam in the specialty of musical pedagogy. She is a piano teacher. In 2008 she earned her master's degree in "Musical Thinking of the 20th Century". She started her professional activity in 2008 at the National Art College "Octav Bancila" in Iasi as co-trainer (“corepetitor”) position on whi h she is currently active. As a co-trainer teacher she has participated with students at various recitals, competitions, and olympiads.
Aurelia Simion graduated from the Republican Music School "Eugen Coca" and the Moldovian State Conservatory “Gavriil Musicescu" in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, in the classes of Prof. Lia Oxinoit and Ludmila Vaverco. She has obtained a Ph.D. At present she is a professor and the vice-rector of the "George Enescu" National University of Arts in Iasi. Se has collaborated with soloists from R. Moldova, Romania, Italy, Switzerland, France, South Korea, Japan, Belgium, Sweden, and Germany, and the music ensembles Gama (R. Moldova), Caffé-Concerto Strauss Musica, Alternances (Romania), Lia-Ciocarlia Choirs (Chisinau), Gavriil Musicescu (Iasi), Cantores amicitiae, Talmud Torah, Laudate Dominum (Iasi). She was awarded the UAGE Award (2007) for scientific research and artistic activity; the Gold Medal of EUROINVENT (2014) for creativity; and special Diplomas of Merit and Excellence (about 80) for solo work and accompaniment to various master’s courses, festivals, national and international competitions. She has performed recitals in Romania, Moldovia, Ukraine, Russia, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Bulgaria. Her repertoire includes creations of the pre-classic, classical, romantic and twentieth-century composers for string, blow, percussion, folk instruments, chamber music, and vocal-symphonic creations. Some of these creations were recorded on CDs. She published specialized volumes, articles, and scores. She participated in many cultural projects and radio - TV shows.

Daniel Robert Gherasim is a Xth grade student and in Nina Munteanu’s violin class at the National College of Art “Octav Bancila“, Iasi.

Bogdan Lazar is in the IVth grade and in the violin class of Nina Munteanu at the National Art College "Octav Bancila", Iasi. He loves music, and especially music played at the violin. He plays in the orchestra of “Buna Vestire” Baptist Church on Sararie, Iasi. He has a soft voice and his solfeggio and his musical ear are perfect. He obtained prizes in theory, the 1st prize in the C. Constantinescu solfeggio competition, the violin prize at the V. Giuleanu competition, Bucharest, 1st prize at Moldo Romano Japonez - PAAA 2018. He is passionate about classical music and plays it with a lot of self-giving. As a hobby, among other things, he likes to craft the well-known traditional Romanian tiny objects called “Martisoare”.
Gabriel-Teodor Dirtu is at present 3rd year student at the Royal Northern College Of Music, UK, and a former student in the viola class of Professor Susie Mészáros, at National College of Art “Octav Bancila“, Iasi. He was born in the beautiful city of Iasi, Romania. Inspired by his family of musicians, he started learning music from the early age of 5; first with piano, singing and violin, then later at the age of 12 discovering the viola for which he developed a long lasting passion. He is currently studying at the Royal Northern College of Music with Susie Meszaros, supported by an ABRSM scholarship. Teodor studied until the 11th grade in the National College of Art “Octav Bancila“ with prestigious teachers like Vasilache Alexandrina and Iulia Bucescu. He then moved to London after receiving a full scholarship to study at Whitgift School, as a result of winning the 1st prize in the Lira de Aur International Competition. Here he captured the attention of Professor Remus Azoitei from the Royal Academy of Music who is helping Teodor with advice and career guidance ever since. Teodor has participated in national and international competitions achieving a total of 12 first prizes, three second prizes and two third prizes. Moreover, he was one of the three finalists in Rachel Godlee competition (2018),he earned the Radio Romania Iasi concert diploma "Young Talents" and has played in quartets and orchestras across the UK, Germany, Costa Rica, Portugal, Italy, Moldova and Romania. Other very important experiences in Teodor's musical life are the Masterclasses he had with renowned teachers like Yuri Bashmet, Nobuko Imai, Thomas Riebl, Dan Mitu, Constantin Stanciu, Ian Jewell, Hank Guittart and Veit Hertenstein.
Sophia Chiriac is a 11th grade high school student at Emil Racovitza National College in Iasi and has been practicing the 6 year piano at the “Ina Cristea” Music School in the piano class of professor Ina Cristea. She has received numerous diplomas and prizes at national and international piano interpretation contests: 1st Prize at the "Young Talents" Contest in Suceava in 2015, 2016; 1st Prize at the "Fortepiano" Piano Performance Festival in Iasi in 2015, the Competition Trophy; and the Special Prize for the performance of a modern piece at the "Piano Enchanted Piano" National Competition Galati 2016; the 2nd Prize at the International Sound Offering Competition, Iasi; and the 3rd Prize at the International Festival "Neghinita", Bacau 2017. Sophia Chiriac accompanied the actor -singer Dorel Visan in the "Eminescu - Human, Genius and Saint" recital held at the Athenaeum in Iasi. She received the graduation diploma in the Piano Interpretation Course of Prof. Ionel Streba from France, held at the Central University Library in Iasi on 19-20 February 2018.
Andreea Chifan is a student in the VIth grade at the gymnasium school Ciortesti. She is 12 years old. For one year she has been studying canto in the class of Stefan Gabriel Gheorghita at the Juniors Art Club. She participated in the Days of Barnova, the Turkish Festival. Her immediate goal is to finish high school and her music studies at the National College of Art “Octav Bancila“ Iasi.
Diana Cruceanu is a student in the Xth grade of high school at the “Octav Bancila” National College of Art, Iasi in the classical canto section of Stefan Gabriel Gheorghita. She is 16 years old. For the Ist to the VIIIth grade she studied at the Waldorf Theoretical High School, Iasi. She participated in the Achim Stoia National Song Contest.
Mihai-Vlad Hertescu is a VIIth grade student at the “Octav Bancila” National College, Iasi, where he studies in the canto class of Stefan Gabriel Gheorghita. He is 14 years old. He went to the "Titu Maiorescu" General School in Iasi (2011-2015). He loves music and likes to sing. He discovered his passion for singing at 9, but he started singing lessons for only a year. He has participated in a single recital so far. Parallel to music, he also attends courses at the Math Excellence Center.
Beatrice Mihaela Spiridon is a student in the Vth grade. She was born on June 28, 2007 in Botosani. At present she is studying canto in the class of Stefan Gabriel Gheorghita at the National Art College "Octav Bancila". She initially studied at the gymnasium No.3 Rauseni, Botosani and then 5 years at the Arts School "Tite; Popovici, Iasi, popular with professor Romeo Luchian. She won various prizes and trophies: The Jury Prize at the "Angela Moldovan" Contest Festival; 14 trophies from the "Star Music" Federation of Romania, Moldovan Star Festival, Iasi; "Copilariei" Festival, Bacau; "Mugurasii" Festival Priscani, Iasi; 8 Ist prizes, 7 IInd, and IIIrd prizes obtained in various festivals and competitions. Apart from singing she plays the guitar,and the piano. In the immediate future, her desire is to finish her studies at the "Octav Bancila" National Art College, Iasi.
Diana Penisoara is a 12th grade student in the classical singing section of Mrs. Pavalache Adina at the “Octav Bancila” National College of iasi. She was born in Vaskui 05/04/2000. She graduated “Dimitrie Cantemir” General School and the Art College, both in Vaslui. Her vocal interpretation is much appreciated and she obtained: the 2nd place at the National Olympiad of Voice, Instrumental and Theoretical Studies; Trophy “Primăvara Artelor” (“Spring of the Arts”) competition; 1st Prize - National Voice Interpretation “Elena Botez”; the 2nd Prize - National Music Contest “Emanuel Elenescu”; The 2nd prize at the National Concert “Achim Stoia” in 2018; the 3rd prize at the “Achim Stoia“ National Song Contest in 2016; Mention at the National Song Contest Achim Stoia in 2017. Diana is a collaborator at the Romanian National Opera in the Aida show. She is a member of the choire of the church of St. Prooroc Daniel, Iasi. She has 5 years of piano and 3 years of singing. She speaks English, and he has a passion for photography, interior design and piainting.
